About Me
Carmen Froneman
I am a Counselling Psychologist in private practice in the picturesque town of Knysna in the Western Cape of South Africa.
I have a masters degree in Counselling Psychology from the Nelson Mandela University and worked as a Trauma Counsellor for 10 years before undertaking my psychology training.
During my training I worked in the Psychology Clinic at the Nelson Mandela University dealing with a wide range of clients and issues. During my internship I worked at Student Counselling at the university and at Grey Junior School in Port Elizabeth.
I have a particular passion for working with children and adults alike with special interest in attachment relationships.

My Therapy Approach
In my practice, I primarily work from an psychoanalytic attachment therapeutic modality.
I also draw from a neurobiological standpoint and always include how your brain has been wired to understand your worldview.
First and foremost however, is my focus on the relationship that I create within my therapy room. I strongly believe that in order to be fully and authentically yourself, you need a safe space so my work revolves creating a connection.

I offer a variety of assessmetns including schoolastic, career and school readiness.
Workshops
I offer a range of workshops for schools, teachers, parents, companies and organizations.
